[unpaid/sample/prioradrelationship] My expectations for the Murad Vita-C Triple Exfoliating Facial was that it would be similar to Kate Sommerville’s Exfolikate which delivers amazing brightening and softening results but it is quite harsh in that it’s not tolerated by every skin type. Even I am a little more sensitive to it than I used to be which is disappointing because I love it, so you can bet I was happy to find the Murad product that is super gentle on the skin with very similar results.
It’s chemical, physical and enzymatic in exfoliating capability, using Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid and Salicylic Acid for the chemical element with a fine grain for the physical. The formula starts off as a light orange shade and once you start to massage it over your skin, it turns white, at which point you stop massaging and leave it on your complexion for 10 minutes before rinsing off. If you’re like me and want an instant result you’ll certainly get one in the form of brighter, smoother looking skin that feels soft but it is marketed as a pigment reducer for longer term use because of the Gold Stabilised Vitamin C element. I am not all that bothered by pigment and always impatient for immediate gratification from a product but I guess you’d say it ticks all boxes because after 4 weeks of use you should see inroads into pigmentation.
Murad Vita-C Triple Exfoliating Facial has exceeded my expectations – it’s lovely to use, not in the least bit harsh, smells beautifully fresh (orangey) and is more-ish. I’ve used it several times in a couple of weeks and like it just as much each time. The only negative is that the grains don’t easily leave your skin. I use a washcloth to take of the mask but then have to splash to get rid of the last grains. It’s £67 which is a lot of for a face mask – I notice the nozzle hole is generous so you can eke it out more by not believing you need a great sausage like amount for it to be effective. Start with half of what you see in the picture above and that should be fine – add a dot more if not. I’m linking to SpaceNK because this might be a good thing to try with points, if you have them.
